Tata Naka Takes Inspiration From Modern Architecture Greats For Their SS 2015 Collection

Fourteen years after graduating from Central Saint Martins with a powerful collection that launched their careers as Tata Naka, Georgian born, identical twin sisters Tamara and Natasha Surguladze are drawing inspiration from modern architecture for their Spring/Summer 2015 collection.

The essence of the collection comes from clean lines and deceptive simplicity of modern architecture. Drawing from research of existing architecture as well as artistic representations of buildings by luminaries such as Frank Gehry & Zaha Hadid the Tata Naka duo have created a collection that celebrates the curve and the linear.

Following architectural examples, Tata Naka juxtaposed undulating curves against structured linear column dresses. To create a harmonious effect, The two designers used architecture as a starting point for the collection, then modernized their original concept by creating a line of curved dresses punctuated with Fortuny style pleating.
