Pretty Please Lounge, Melbourne
/
Travis Walton knows how to make an entrance! Walton bolted onto the scene in 2010 with his new Melbourne based design firm, who have built a series of stand-out projects, and now the designer has created an unremarkable blooming entrance for Pretty Please- a vivid new playspot for Melbourne's night owls. The experience begins with an enticing pink door and the words 'pretty please' plastered on the sidewalk. The doors open up to a lavish fantasy setting as over scaled photo-murals of jungle-esque foliage dress the walls, and luxurious upholstery of velvets and silks in banquettes and alcoves provide sensory "nests" for a more intimate nightlife experience. The psycho-botanical setting is juxtaposed with a floating white monolithic bar as a repetitive display of glowing bottles curve up to the ceiling. Walton used fairytale like imagery, mixed with punches of pink tones, mirror panels, and neon signage to create the seductive adult playground.
Also, A huge congratulations goes out to Walton and his team as Pretty Please has been shortlisted for ‘Best international Bar’ as part of the FX International Design Awardsin a category that has been narrowed down to only 9 shortlisted venues Worldwide!
